What we collect

We collect your email address and the AI conversations you save to your Diary, including the text, images and files they contain. We do not collect your browsing history or keystrokes, and we do not read content from other websites.

The Diary browser extension

The Diary extension works on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral and Meta AI. When you save a response, or when you have an automatic save option turned on, it reads the conversation shown on that page, including text, images and files the AI produced, and sends it to your Diary on our servers. The extension does not read other websites, your browsing history, or anything you type elsewhere. When you press Sync on a saved entry, it briefly opens that conversation in a background tab to update the entry. It stores a login session and your settings on your device, so you stay signed in. It never stores your password.

Data from the extension is used only to provide Diary: saving, organising, searching and showing your entries. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising or to assess creditworthiness, and we do not transfer it to others except the service providers needed to run Diary, as described below. The extension's use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How we use your data

Your saved entries are stored securely in your personal diary. To power search, summaries and read-aloud, Forge sends only the text needed for the feature you use to AI service providers, some of which are based outside Switzerland and the EU, including in the United States. Our database is hosted in the EU (Amsterdam). We also use service providers for hosting, payments and analytics. Forge does not use your entries to train AI models, and we do not sell them. If you continue a conversation with an AI you choose, that provider's own terms apply.

Data storage

Your data is stored on servers in the European Union and is encrypted at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices.

Cookies

We use a cookie to keep you signed in. We also use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to count visits and see which features get used, so we can improve Diary. It does not record your screen and it never sees what is in your entries. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can export or delete all your data at any time from the Account menu in your Diary. Deleting your account removes your Diary and everything in it; we keep only the billing records that Swiss law requires us to retain, such as invoices, and these never include your saved entries.
